A NEW DINING EXPERIENCE

Welcome to Aquila, a new beginning for Italian dining in Bristol.

We are a modern Italian restaurant bringing the very best of traditional dishes from the regions of Italy to Bristol city centre. The sleek design of the restaurant is complimented by the service given by our front of house. Our sommeliers have created an extensive wine list to compliment the menu that Head Chef Daniele Pellicane and his brigade have created.

Our central location on Baldwin Street gives great views from our floor to ceiling windows over both floors, and our capacity of 160 guests ensure we can cater for any occasion. We are fully accessible and have a lift which covers the bar, ground and first floor areas. Vegan and Vegetarian menus are available on request.

WINE

Welcome to the Aquila Wine List, shortlisted in consecutive years and awarded ‘Highly Commended’ at the Bristol Good Food Awards.

Aquila is a family run restaurant which specialises in fresh, modern Italian cuisine. Our kitchen brigade hail from all regions of Italy and their knowledge of regional dishes and flavours offers you a real taste of true Italian food using the finest local ingredients. Everything on our menu is freshly made to order and is served the Italian way, all accompanied by an extensive wine list that has been heavily researched and mainly features Italian wines plus a great range from old & new world that complement our traditional Italian cuisine.

We take great pride in ensuring that our wine list compliments our menu. Our staff will be more than happy to help you with any questions you may have, please just ask.

In this day and age everyone understands what is meant by organic, but biodynamic viticulture takes things a few steps further. Vineyard practices are governed by lunar cycles, the grower believes the vineyard has a soul that needs nourishing.

The approach is centred on the enrichment of the soil through natural organic matter, the aim being to increase the availability of the elements needed by the vine such as nitrogen and water, which should logically improve vine health and quality of fruit.

The winemaker eschews the use of laboratory prepared yeasts in favour of ones that occur naturally in the vineyard, the wines often have no fining or filtration and an absolute minimal use (if any) of sulphur at any stage of the wine making process.

To help find them in our wine list we have marked (O) for Organic, (B) for Biodynamic & (N) for Natural, please note wines with (unfiltered) will contain more sediment and maybe a little cloudy. If you have any questions, please speak to a member of the sommelier team.

All menu prices inclusive of VAT at current UK rate. We apologise if some bottles become unavailable
